Description:

chanson, a unique and innovative ensemble from Brisbane, recently launched their new CD entitled 'chanson', which includes some of the groups individual personal favourites, taken from special musical chapters in their lives.

To quote George Golla, well known jazz guitarist, "My compliments to the musicians. Beautifully played music, peaceful and healing. I was transported!"

In the words of Judith Durham, "This CD plays just for you...the arrangements are gorgeous, and emotions are truly captured on the recording. It was all over too soon."

chanson will delight people with its refreshing and accessible style and presentation. This ensemble comprises flute, harp, cello and voice. chanson's repertoire encompasses a broad range of styles from classics to contemporary.

Cellist, Chris Patrick says "chanson is all about innovation, imagination and reinventation. The emphasis in our concerts is to soothe and comfort; we simply love entertaining! The music we play is inspired by personal stories taken from special musical chapters inour lives, and we aim to give our audience the best harmonic message imaginable".

chanson comprises Anna Stoddart (flute), Janice Preece (harp), Chris Patrick (cello) and Sharny Russell (vocals/piano). Group members are all distinguished professional musicians in their own right, having performed with classical orchestras, Stewart and James Morrison and recently for Queen Elizabeth II at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Conference in Coolum, Queensland.
